In a free 30-minute consultation, a grants consultant will meet with you to discuss your organization and needs. During this session, we will take you through a project planning toolkit to determine how attractive your project or program will appear to potential funders. It is important to get an idea of a program’s viability before beginning to research and apply for grants to ensure that the organization is in a competitive position to secure funding. Expect to spend the majority of the meeting answering questions about your organization and goals as we work together to identify your needs. The final portion of the meeting will be set aside to walk you through our process for identifying and pursuing various sources of funding and to answer any questions you may have.
Funding Strategy
A funding strategy is a 6-month roadmap detailing the grants for which your project or program will be most competitive. After meeting with you to discuss your organization and walk your funding needs through our project planning checklist, we will plug your organization’s project or program into a grants database. We use the information from our initial meeting to pair down the opportunities to those your organization will be most competitive for. After bringing this rough list of opportunities to you to review, we then work with your organization to reach out to funders, build relationships, and determine the likelihood of success in pursuing each grant. Finally, the funding opportunities will be organized by timeline and viability, indicating application deadlines, if and when to submit any LOIs, and instructions to submit each grant application. The grant research to develop a complete funding strategy usually takes 6-8 weeks and will guide your organization through 6 months’ worth of funding opportunities.
